I worked for the Burton Mail/Staffordshire Newspapers/Reach Plc from February 1997 until August 2020, moving from telesales into the editorial department in October 2005. My role as commercial features writer involved interviewing and writing company profiles for businesses in East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire, Ashbourne, Uttoxeter and Leek. Although my job was advertising led, I also wrote and edited the FeMail page in the Burton Mail which was published every Monday and included a tried and tested section. I also wrote previews and reviews for gigs and musical theatre for the entertainment pages of the Burton Mail, along with book, CD, DVD and travel reviews which were included in the Weekender section of Saturday's Burton Mail.Not only did these articles appear in print but also online across the Burton Mail/Staffordshire Newspaper/Reach Plc portfolio of websites
