I write plain language and Easy Read communications for people with low English literacy. After working as a marketing professional for over 25 years, I completed a graduate diploma in editing and publishing at RMIT in 2012 and consulted as a plain language specialist for a variety of organisations. I started writing Easy English in 2015 and managed Scope's Accessible Information service from 2016 to 2021. During that time, demand for our award-winning service grew substantially and our customer base expanded from government and not-for-profit groups to corporate organisations in sectors such as banking, transport, legal and essential services. I continue to create plain language communications to ensure everyone can access important information. I've also started Easy Read Australia to continue this important work.
