key roles and achievements under drylands development program .Mobilized for community contributions, capacity building on various agricultural technologies, leadership trainings like conservation agriculture and rehabilitation of denuded lands.• Oversaw on-farm rain water harvesting – excavation of 250M3 farm ponds • Supported farmer groups in Agricultural Commodity production for key value chains - mango, cow peas, pigeon peas, green grams, poultry, goat and bee keeping • Collaborated with Project manager to ensure effective project implementation and strict adherence to the approved designs, standards and guidelines. • Ensured timely implementation of the DryDev initiatives to ensure that the project exceed the expected outcome.• Ensured all the project initiatives were monitored accordingly through evaluations and regular monitoring from the start to the end to meet expected standards • Kept records of participating farmers and made individualized follow-up to ensure all members of the target group benefited from the project. • Enhanced savings among the target groups through training on savings for transformation and follow up during regular group meetings • Organized farmer level field days and exchange forums for cross learning among the farmers within and outside the county e.g Kitui, Machakos, Laikipia on demonstration of best practices for water resource management; WRUA implementation). • Facilitated community sensitization on Natural Resource Management and food security related Laws, Policies and Standards • Represented Caritas at stakeholder forums e.g. in Agricultural fairs, farmer-to-farmer field learning events and farmer field schools. • Consolidated best practices and lessons learnt from the field for documentation and organizational learning; Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Entry.
