About Caroline Moth

At first glance you might look at my professional journey and wonder why I've taken the route I have but I would say that all paths have led me here, to the wonderful world of relocation. My own experience as an expat combined with my history of moving people and products have helped gain me the requisite insight and knowledge to assist companies to relocate their assignees efficiently and comfortably around the globe. There can't be that many people who get excited by tasks and organisation but I can confidently say that I do. And the best part about this job is that I can still combine that with being on the front line of operations, speaking to clients everyday and ensuring a successful transfer along with my team. When I'm not working I like to do my own moving by travelling to new and distant lands and consuming as many new cuisines as possible (with a strong preference for cheese). Or when I'm feeling like staying put a good documentary, podcast or book will do the trick.I am a subject matter expert in relocation, immigration, HR and planning but am always seeking to expand my skill set. Connect with me on LinkedIn and apart from my professional experiences I can tell you all about my love of documentaries and Mongolia.► CORE COMPETENCIES:Client / Account Management, Immigration, Expatriate Tax, Global Mobility, Process Improvement, Human Resources, Customer Service, Training and Integration, Personnel Planning, HR Software Development, Reporting and Forecasting, Logistics, MS Office and Personnel Registration systems

Listed skills include Human Resources, Personnel Management, Personnel Matters, System Administration, and 21 others.

World Traveller

Sabbatical

Russia Through To Nepal

World travel that allowed me time to engage in personal projects and development but also allowed me opportunities to advance my professional skill set in the most unexpected of places. I undertook voluntary work in Indonesia, learnt a new language, made an international network of fantastic travel companions and best of all learnt about the most diverse and fascinating cultures.

May 2016 - Dec 2016

Global Mobility Specialist

Amsterdam

Although having gained some excellent experience at Geolog I decided to join TCS in order to gain skills in global mobility which I felt were missing from my skill set in Personnel and HR. Developing immigration skills seemed like a natural progression from HR compliance and from my legal background. In order to succeed, strict compliance with Dutch regulations was required which meant keeping up to date with the latest developments with regards to immigration policy and maintaining perfect administration.I joined the small team and assisted them as a subject matter expert and first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders with regards to the immigration process in the Netherlands and Expat management, including expatriate tax and the 30% ruling. I learnt how to submit immigration applications, short term work permit applications and how to manage bilateral social security arrangements for expats.Whilst thoroughly enjoying processing the immigration applications and assisting with the compliance strategy I was glad to still be able to give face to face guidance to incoming expats and accompanied family members on documentation requirements and more insight into local practices. However, although I felt there was still a lot to learn after one year with TCS I decided that I wanted to take the opportunity to travel the world.

May 2015 - May 2016

Senior Personnel Coordinator

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

Building on the experience I had gained in Operations about the business I moved into the HR department to further develop my Personnel Management skills. One of my core functions was to on-board and integrate new field staff and then work with Global Operations to assist with recruitment, ensuring that our personnel needs were fulfilled. Additionally I assisted with contracts, payroll and coordinated a project to develop a new HR system with IT. I enjoyed the HR administration aspect of the role but especially enjoyed the opportunity to get more involved in project management. After several years I went on to advising management on employee related issues and strategy and undertook audits of our international field operational bases on matters related to HR compliance. Even though the work was fast paced and required a lot of energy, Geolog provided one of the best grounds for learning. I felt that I really developed my people skills. Although I enjoyed personnel issues and HR I still felt that I had a gap in my knowledge regarding expatriate tax and immigration. Unfortunately these matters were handled by external consultants so there was not much opportunity to grow in these fields internally and that I why I took my next professional step.

Mar 2012 - Apr 2015

Operations Coordinator

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

This role at Geolog brought me to The Netherlands and provided some invaluable professional experience. At the same time ensuring a personal challenge by bringing me to an entirely new country to live.As Operations Coordinator I supervised the offshore and onshore operations of the North Sea Base. The role drew on my logistics and oilfield experience as I had to maintain the inventory of our mud logging cabins and manage the logistics personally. Apart from inventory and purchase orders I was also responsible for the personnel rotation planning and welfare of our crews, this encompassed training programs right down to hotel bookings. And finally to support the Operations Manager I would assist with the account management of our North Sea clients. This included regular liaison with operations geologists and workshop attendance, leading to better identifying selling opportunities and client intelligence.

Jun 2011 - Mar 2012

Supply Chain Specialist

Stonehouse, United Kingdom

I started my Schlumberger journey as an Import and Export Specialist helping to organise transport, clearing consignments through Customs, checking Import entries for accuracy and investigating logistics/inventory issues. This helped me gain industry specific knowledge (tariff codes, inward processing relief and duty and VAT calculation for example) that eventually assisted me in setting up a process for reporting key areas for improvement (KPI's) to our freight forwarder so that they could deliver a better service and keep lead times to a minimum. This was the point that I realised that I really enjoyed process improvement and working with various stakeholders to collaborate and achieve a successful result.Additional to my role coordinating the import and export process I also supported the Trade Compliance Department by assisting with the implementation of a duty management piece of software. This was my first taste of system administration as well as of compliance and trade restrictions. My time at Schlumberger was a fantastic experience at a global market leader but I was seeking the opportunity to further develop my experience abroad and found a new opportunity before continuing my career trajectory here.
