I was asked by the board of directors to assume leadership of BostonFIG in the role of Chief Executive Officer (read: Executive Director) of the 501c3 nonprofit organization. I managed BostonFIG Fest in 2015 year as Executive Producer, aiming to broaden the festival's reach and serve the indie development and fan community even better in our fourth year of the fest. Under my leadership we closed a $10k deficit that year that was left from the 2014 year. In my time as CEO I have broadened and developed our programming efforts to include new annual events including BostonFIG Talks, BostonFIG Learns, Boston GameLoop, as well as ad-hoc programming for schools, charitable causes, and serving the creator community. BostonFIG is currently developing our educational curriculum aimed to give underserved communities access to game-creation tools and knowledge with our summer camp and after-school programming, called BostonFIG Forward. BostonFIG is an entirely volunteer effort. Every penny we raise goes towards serving our mission and supporting game creation and economic development not only regionally, but globally. I am extremely proud of what BostonFIG has accomplished in our last 8 years and look forward to leading our team forward.
