I worked with a small team of front-end developers for the 2007 Oprah.com re-design. We wrote strict XHTML and CSS and brought that into a JSP framework. The site is no longer online but you can see some beautiful screenshots in my portfolio.

Met with clients, gathered requirements. Created designs and all front end code for custom PHP ecommerce sites. Worked closely with the PHP dev located in Belarus. Lots of print work: logos, business cards, brochures, posters.

Daily Goal: Safely, quickly and correctly fulfill customer cell phone orders.- Robotic auto-line management - keep the pick and place robots filled with correct product, keep the robots moving to deliver packed phones to the shipping department. - Managed 60 employees.- Mentored and facilitated training courses.- Employee evaluations.- Fork truck operation - gosh that was fun and I miss that.I started on the manual cell phone packing line in the Arlington Heights facility as an Associate in 1990; I then helped open the Buffalo Grove facility where the first automated line was built and tested; And then I helped open Libertyville and worked on the 3 automated packaging lines there and was promoted to a Line Leader and eventually a Distribution Supervisor; I then helped open the Harvard facility and the 6 Autolines in distribution. Ultimately the Harvard facility was closed in 1999 and I took my severance and started going to the College of Lake County and started a new career in Multimedia Design and Coding.

Daily Goal: Feed hungry customers and maintain the brand and quality standard.On my first day I was put on the grill during lunch with Mike R guiding me... from there I moved quickly to Shift Manager and then Store Manager. An excellent experience that I would not trade for anything.These were great and iconic times - "The Fridge"​ from the Chicago Bears would often come through the drive through and order a plain triple cheese burger with no bun for his puppy. Good times. Lots of training. Lots of hard work. Got to meet Dave Thomas and his wife also. We had one of the highest rated stores in the midwest.
