I am using mathematical modeling to investigate how simultaneous sexual and clonal reproduction contributes to plant population persistence. During my time in the Biology department, I have also helped to integrate new edtech into the Introductory Biology II lab exercises as a part of my TA duties and served as the Graduate Student & Postdoc Association secretary. I started as a PhD student, achieving candidacy, and then took a leave of absence for the 2022-2023 academic year to pursue a Master's in Data Science. I have resumed my Biology research as a Master's student and successfully defended my thesis in September 2023.

Completed a Masters in Data Science at the University of Virginia, completing a capstone project working with the EdTech Evidence Exchange titled "Identifying and Displaying EdTech Implementation Context Profiles." Our team redesigned the context matching feature to achieve comparable performance using fewer variables, and focused at the school level in recognition of within-district variation. Our protocol also allows the Exchange Platform to update this tool as they expand their work.

I worked as a summer research student in the Hunt Lab studying the polyadenylation complex in plants via in vitro transcription translation and other molecular biology methods.
