Caroline has also worked with Cakebread Inc. for over 15 years, specializing in content marketing, research, and events in financial services and investing. As a pension expert, she has produced and hosted some of Canada's top pension events and has created award winning content in the investment space for nearly 20 years. She specializes in digital content, strategy, and social media listening that helps brands understand and influence the conversations that matter. Caroline continues to work closely with pension boards and management to enhance management-trustee conversations and improve communication on complex topics such as pension risk and liability-driven investing. Her expertise and research in the area of financial literacy has continued to shape policy and messaging in the area of retirement security for Canadians. She is the author of several research papers on financial literacy and investor education and developed the first comprehensive and Canada-specific model for evaluating the effectiveness of public education initiatives.She recently authored a paper on pension governance with Hugh O'Reilly and Louise Greig for the CD Howe Institute and she is the author of Back From the Brink: Lessons from the Canadian ABCP Crisis (2016). Caroline is also a recovering academic and received her PhD in English from the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham, in the UK. She has published and lectured on Shakespeare, women and contemporary literature.
