Caroline Crewe-Read is a Director at Army Central Fund. She possess expertise in project management, public sector, management, change management, stakeholder management and 17 more skills. She is proficient in Italian. Colleagues describe her as " Caroline is an extraordinary leader, manager and philanthropy expert and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any organisation with ambitious fundraising goals. During my time working within her team at Historic England, Caroline achieved the mammoth task of establishing a brand new philanthropy function. She developed our fundraising programmes and built the entire philanthropy architecture from the ground up - a new team, strategy, policies, a bespoke database and more. Crucially, she fundamentally altered the perception of Historic England as a fundraising organisation among staff, peer organisations and as the natural choice for prospective donors and heritage enthusiasts. Caroline was the perfect leader for such an ambitious project - she was unafraid to get stuck into detail and ask difficult questions, had boundless energy throughout, and kept the team enthusiastic to achieve her strategic vision. She is a natural fundraiser and it was an inspiration to watch her engage and motivate philanthropists and work with her in securing gifts from trusts and foundations which was my area of fundraising. Above all, Caroline is fun and a great ally, making it a joy to work with her. " and "I cannot recommend Caroline more highly. Throughout my time working under her leadership, she consistently demonstrated strong managerial skills and a deep dedication to her team's success. Under her guidance, our team achieved remarkable results in securing major donations and grants, a testament to her ability to steer our department towards strategic goals. Additionally, Caroline fostered a warm and supportive working environment, where everyone felt valued and motivated to succeed. One particular attribute that sets Caroline apart is her aptitude for developing talent within her team. Despite having a large workload, she always prioritized providing opportunities for professional development and actively supporting team members with their career growth. Overall, her exceptional leadership, passion for philanthropy and commitment to team success made her a truly outstanding manager and fundraiser and someone I would highly recommend."
