I launched Aardvark Art to fill a gap in the local provision by offering family art activities which are fun, unique and encourage both parent and your child to unleash their creativity! I offer family art sessions, parties, new parent groups and preschool sessions in Sheffield. Running the business also involves event planning, social media management, branding and customer liaison. I have collaborated with local community groups, other small businesses and freelancers to develop the service. I work in line with health and safety and child protection guidelines and paediatric first aid qualified.

Working as part of HeppSY (Higher Education Progression Partnership), to raise aspirations and help targeted young people fulfil their potential in the further study and careers. The role involves working with schools across South Yorkshire to deliver impartial advice and guidance in one to one, small group and large group settings, with a particular focus on exploring Higher Education. Supporting schools to empower their students by strengthening their careers offer and meet Gatsby Benchmarks.

Working primarily with Psychology, Sociology and Politics undergraduates and liaising with the department concerning embedding employability into the curriculum. Projects include leading a cross university group for high achieving students, pioneering a practice interview programme throughout the Careers Service and organising professional career talks within the department.

Advising adults of all ages on career options, education, training and job search on the Next Step careers advice programme. Supporting vulnerable groups in their career progression including long term unemployed, single parents and refugees. Providing an outreach advice service in organisations including CTS, Sharrow Community Forum and Bailey Court Job Centre.

Doncaster And Rotherham

Providing advice and guidance to a caseload 16-19 year learners, through a vocational 'Entry to Employment' prgramme. Supporting in establishing career goals, building confidence, removing barriers to learning and participating in work placements. Building relationships with local employers and training providers to source work placements and progression routes. Liaising with external organisations to support the young people with issues including housing, substance misuse, criminal behaviour and mental health problems.

Scunthorpe

Working across nine schools contributing to extended services and the Every Child Matters agenda. Liaising with school staff, parents, young people and the wider community to develop programmes of activities to meet the identified and developing needs of the local community. Projects included pioneering a programme for dads to support their children with reading, planning holiday activities for vulnerable young people and organising adult learning courses.
