Took part in clinical immersion program organized by the Union College ECBE Department and Albany Medical College BACC. Spent the summer at Albany Medical Center, where I shadowed and interviewed clinicians. Identified flaws in medical devices and needs for improvement across more than a dozen clinical settings. Data collected is incorporated into Capstone Design course, where targeted device undergoes engineering design process over two terms and the result is an improved product.

Dakar Region, Senegal

Participated in study abroad program with Union College. Internship focused on health care throughout Senegal. Observed various health care sites including a clinic in Dakar, a small hospital in Toubab Dialao, an occupational center and medical site for disabled children, and Keur Massar’s traditional health center. Performed preliminary assessments and wound cleanings.
