The Schaffer-Nishimura lab specializes in bio-imaging technology with research focus in Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders. My role is assisting on one of the Alzheimer's projects focusing on brain waste removal.

I spent six weeks living in Arusha, Tanzania on an exchange program with students from Arusha Technical college. I went to various hospitals across the region to repair medical equipment along with designing parts for long term repair. I improved my technical skills and my ability to design parts. It was a great experience to apply engineering skill in a very different setting than the classroom.

Took care of 15+ horses, and helped kids learn basic horse care and tacking. I was also responsible for making sure all horses and kids were ready on time for their lessons.
