Drove strategic direction of emerging volunteer initiative for ALSAC in newly created position. Worked hand-in-hand with leadership at both regional and national levels to educate and train more than 1 million volunteers. Generated revenue and volunteer service through partnership with organizations such as the National Cartoonists Society, the National Auctioneers Association and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Created and implemented the strategic plan for the recruitment, activation, cultivation and appreciation of all organization-wide volunteers.

Managed regional special events team of 250 including 17 regional directors, and 4 area directors. As national office liaison to all program teams, coordinated efforts, maintained knowledge of all strategies, and implemented approaches at field level. Developed and supervised nearly one-quarter of ALSAC’s staff. Increased annual fundraising revenue $30 million, growing from $138 million to $168 million, in four years by strategically partnering with teams on program enhancements that increased efficiency and results. Decreased staff turnover 11%, from 25% to 14% in four years by implementing better comp-time policies and recognition for stellar performance.

In newly created role, identified ways to implement ideas into programs through brainstorming, evaluating, and managing of projects and programs. Encouraged others to give thought to innovative fundraising concepts. Spearheaded new fundraising ideas and directed meetings with senior staff to develop official process to funnel employees’ ideas through proper channels. Encouraged community involvement by adding an event suggestion link to website where volunteers and supporters submitted 60–100 fundraising ideas weekly, reducing time spent by regional team.

In first role at national office, focused on cause marketing, partnering with more than 35 companies on their initiatives to raise funds through the Thanks and Giving program. Managed team to strategically collaborate with large retail companies. Led five-year strategic plan efforts for Corporate Alliances division, including program sponsorship valuation. Delivered 211% increase in partner revenue, expanding from $5.4 million to $16.7 million, in three years by recruiting new national partners and working with existing partners to enhance their fundraising efforts.

Orange County, California Area

Directed Western territory of eight states from California to Alaska for ALSAC’s special event fundraising. Managed local employees plus two offsite associate directors. Oversaw all aspects of $8 million region, including revenue and business development, team leadership, P&L, new relationship sales, event management, and strategic partnerships. Dramatically transformed perception of region from underperforming with high turnover to one of top performing in organization.
