Well-received MOOC by the 1,342 course-participants, with a 98.2% satisfaction rate and a completion rate of 3x the industry average.• Developed 4 policy recommendations that were endorsed by the African Union Commission’s first ordinary session of the specialized technical committee on trade, industry, and minerals (STC-TIM) committee for implementation by all 55 member states of the African Union.• Proposed conceptualisation of a curriculum sprint to develop a global-first tailored and quality assured curriculum on development minerals for delivery by universities and research institutions. Adapted for use in 42 universities and research institutions globally.- Co-led the organization of the International Conference on Artisanal and small-scale mining and quarrying (held from 11-13 Sep 2018 in Livingstone, Zambia) with 547 participants from 72 countries.
