Caroline Targonski, OTD, OTR/L graduated with her doctorate in occupational therapy from Huntington University and was a member of Pi Theta Epsilon Occupational Therapy Honors Society. She is passionate about working in pediatric occupational therapy and using a client-centered, evidence-based approach while incorporating the family within the child's holistic development. Caroline has experience working with children and adults with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities within the clinic, home health, and community settings of occupational therapy. She has experience working in both the traditional and intensive models of therapy (IMOT) in the pediatric setting. She has completed training courses on facilitating self-regulation, feeding therapy, and advanced orthotics. Caroline holds her occupational therapy licenses in North Carolina and Alaska and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.Caroline is also passionate about using her OT background to adapt and modify the church to be intentionally more inclusive for all God’s children. Her doctoral capstone project, a 14-week experiential project for advanced practice in program development, education, and advocacy within the field of OT, was titled "Special Needs Ministry Through an OT Lens." She has experience creating special needs ministries at three church campuses in Charlotte and has created sensory spaces, provided worship and Sunday school classroom supports and modifications, hosted volunteer trainings and respite events, and advocated for disability awareness and inclusion within the church.
