As the founder and owner of a media company and a website design company, I have undertaken a variety of editorial services, including writing, editing, publication design and redesign, strategic planning, website design and public relations for clients throughout New England and beyond. Specialties include medicine, business, education, and scientific research and development. In addition to other projects, I served as editor of "Doing Business in Connecticut 2015," an economic development publication of the Hartford Business Journal, and as founding editor for three editions of Seasons Magazine in Austin, TX, Del Mar, CA and La Jolla, CA. I currently serve as editor of Seasons Magazines, with responsibility for quarterly publications publications serving five readership areas in Connecticut.

I took on the position of editorial director with West Hartford, CT-based LIFE Publications after serving for 11 months as deputy editorial director. As editorial director, I was responsible for overseeing the production of nine monthly newsmagazines that appeared in print and online. I headed monthly individual and group editorial meetings, collaborated with the town editors to decide which stories would run, edited all articles, and worked closely with the production department on page and cover design. Over the span of eight months, I revamped the editorial production process for greater efficiency and accuracy by creating a new system involving everything from file nomenclature to fact-checking. I streamlined and shortened the production process for all nine publications, while improving the quality of the final product. I worked for LIFE Publications for five years. While with this company, I also served as editor of Hartford Magazine, Decades magazine, the Greater Hartford Charitable Events Guide and other LIFE publications. The newsmagazines were recently sold.

I served as deputy editorial director and editor with LIFE Publications. In this role, I helped to manage and edit the content of nine monthly newsmagazines. During this time, I also conceptualized and co-created the company's new website (www.lifepublications.com). It featured all nine publications in an interactive flip book format that not only provided expanded access for readers but helped to drive ad sales through online connections to our customers' websites and monthly promotions.

I served as editor of Hartford Magazine for the second time. In this role, I planned the content, assigned stories, managed junior staff and freelancers, edited copy, wrote features and columns, and oversaw the production of the publication. I worked closely with the production department and its art director to significantly improve the design of the magazine, and in 2010, I was named Employee of the Year. I have also served as editor of Home Living, Decades magazine, The Greater Hartford Charitable Events Guide and mywesthartfordlife.com for this company.

I was the founding editor and conceptual designer of Washington-based Prevention Strategist Magazine, a national medical magazine published for members of APIC, the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. The full color, glossy magazine is published quarterly.

I was the editor of a new online newspaper that was launched by LIFE Publications in mid-May. MyWestHartfordLIFE.com offered breaking news, features, sports, blogs and boards, and much more. This interactive site allowed readers to post everything from community photos to the results of the latest Little League game.

After joining LIFE Publications, I served as editor of a number of different publications, including Decades Magazine, the Greater Hartford Guide to Charitable Events, and www.mywesthartfordlife.com, before becoming the editor of Hartford Magazine for the second time.

As editor of CT Business, I decided the content of Connecticut's only glossy, statewide monthly business magazine, assigned stories, managed junior staff and freelancers, edited copy, wrote features and columns, and managed the departmental budget. I was also senior editor of AllGreen Magazine and AllGreen.com; managing editor of Home Living CT, Decades magazine and The Greater Hartford Charitable Events Guide; and contributing editor to Hartford Magazine.

I determined the content of this glossy monthly magazine, managed staff writers and freelancers, assigned stories, edited content, wrote features, and managed the departmental budget. I simultaneously served as editor of The Greater Hartford Charitable Events Guide, and copy editor and writer for CT Business Magazine. (Hartford Magazine was sold to LIFE Publications in the summer of 2007.)

I managed a staff of writers and researchers at this prestigious weekly business newspaper, assigned stories to freelancers, edited all copy, wrote news and feature stories, served as sole staff photographer and copy edited all special publications. During this period, I won the Gold Award of Excellence from The Alliance of Area Business Publications for Best Recurring Feature. The judges wrote of my series on the $1 billion Adriaen's Landing development project: "An ambitious package on development with top-notch reporting and insight that gives readers a lot of critical information on a terrifically important topic. Well presented with charts, photos and other breakouts that make the complex subject reader friendly."

I planned and developed the content of business weekly's commercial real estate section while simultaneously serving as a full-time reporter and photographer. I acted in the capacity of assistant editor, and was responsible for copy editing all of the newspaper's stories, listings and page proofs on a weekly basis. I was also responsible for copy editing all of the company's specialty publications, including the annual Book of Lists, the Greater Hartford Market Guide and the Greater Hartford Guest Guide.
