Academic Counselor/Advisor with 20 years of experience in higher education, both at the Community College and University levels. I have worked as an advisor, counselor, instructor and administrator at the CSU, UC, community college and private universities in California, and am skilled in program development and management, leadership, teaching, and staff training and development. As the inaugural Director of Academic Advising at Chapman University, I had the honor of building a comprehensive advising program for our undergraduate students that included orientation advising for incoming students, programming for undeclared students, and holistic advising for students in academic difficulty. I hired and trained a staff of professional academic advisors, graduate interns and undergraduate peer advisors, and provided ongoing training and outreach to our campus partners. In my adjunct counselor role at Saddleback College, I have had the opportunity to develop our online College Success course for local high school seniors, and provide career exploration and coaching workshops.I am also a certified Pilates Instructor and Holistic Wellness Coach, with a small studio business.
