I'm Carol Goodwin, President of the Goodwin Company. Goodwin is the oldest family-owned and continuously operated reclaimed wood company, with our founder George Goodwin overseeing and maintaining operations present day. We service the high-end, luxury lumber market and supply antique wood to the most premier residential and commercial builders. Some of our prominent residential clients include Tom Cruise, Bob Villa, Paul McCartney, Ted Turner of Turner Broadcasting, and Norm Abrams, a prominent star on "This Old House" TV series. My professional activities include founding the former Reclaimed Wood Floor Association and the Association for the Restoration of Longleaf Pine, as well as chairing the National Wood Floor Association’s Environmental Committee for four years. Previously I have served as Treasurer and a Board Member of the Florida Green Building Coalition and am currently a Board Member of the USGBC Heart of Florida Chapter.I am an experienced presenter to consumer and professional audiences and have authored and presented continuing education courses on ‘Reclaimed Wood’, ‘Wood Floor Installations and Commercial Uses’, ‘Green Home Building – How Certification Works’, ‘What Makes a Building Product Green?’ and ‘Wood Products… What They Mean to Your Green Building’. I have published numerous articles and booklets on longleaf pine ecosystem reforestation and the building uses of antique heart pine.
