My career over the last 25 years has been focused on the field of training. As an entrepreneur, businessperson and manager of a classroom-based training centre first, and e-learning supplier later, the whole team has spent these years striving to create, and put into practice for our clients, a type of training based on user experience that is, therefore, completely different from traditional methods, based on explaining how to do something. We understand that the best way to remember what we learn is by having similar experiences that make us remember. If a process or ability is taught in a way that distances its learning or practice from reality, it is very unlikely ever to be used afterwards in a real environment. We developed simulators, games, graphic adventures, virtual communities for users to experience situations similar to those they will later encounter in real life and that, consequently, mobilise their memories. Along these lines, it is much more motivating and effective to train users by putting them in situations in which they want to put their skills into practice, to achieve proposed objectives.
