I most recently served the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) as editor-in-chief of its award-winning magazine, Trusteeship, where I oversaw all editorial, design, and printing, working with writers throughout the nation to inform governance leaders in higher education. Earlier, from 2016 to 2022, I was Vice President for State Council Programs and the Online Course Sharing Consortium at the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) where I oversaw all aspects of nearly $1.9 million in annual scholarship and grant programs to state associations to improve access to private colleges and collaborative services that advance student and institutional success. I founded and developed CIC's Online Course Sharing Consortium, a member service that helps private colleges provide cost-effective online options to students, growing the consortium's membership from zero to more than 300 in less than three years. Earlier, I served for 15 years at Davis & Elkins College where, as Vice President for Development, I helped secure the $25 million lead gift to launch the college's first $100 million campaign. I also led the college's marketing and communications team and oversaw a portfolio of publications, the college website, and its social media channels. I served on the CASE DII Board, where I redeveloped the DII website and co-chaired the marketing committee for the 2015 DII Conference. I have been involved in historic preservation and the arts throughout my career. I grew up in Indiana and lived in Colorado, Illinois, and West Virginia before moving to DC. I currently reside in West Virginia and Washington, DC. My home teams are the Illini, the Boilermakers, and the DPU Tigers.

I was responsible for developing CIC’s relationship with the UPS Foundation, for securing and increasing annual grants from UPS, and for designing programs and budgets supported by the $52 million CIC/UPS Educational Endowment. Under my leadership the scholarship awards increased significantly and grant initiatives focused on student success through mentorships, transfer pathways, internships, boot camps, and career opportunities, as well as increased marketing capacity at state associations. In 2018, I proposed and led CIC's launch of the Online Course Sharing Consortium, an innovative program that supports student progress and institutional success through flexible, cost-effective online course sharing.
