Born in Virginia, U.S.A., and raised in Ottawa, Ont., Carol followed her passion for art and textiles to Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in Toronto before specializing in textile design at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. She worked as a silk painter, paper maker, costume dyer, set decorator and freelance artist, before moving into carpet design with various firms and later co-founding Creative Matters. A three-time Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition award recipient, she regularly lectures on textile arts for art colleges and institutions such as OCAD, Sheridan and the William Morris Society. Carol’s entrepreneurial spirit and joie-de-vie extend to singing and painting. She exhibits her oils frequently in local venues. A past professional advisory board member for the Sheridan Institute School of Crafts and Design, Carol lives in Toronto with her husband.Specialties: carpet design
