As a professional Interior Designer and Project Manager, Carolyn focuses on projects in the greater Philadelphia area. Recent projects include kitchens and baths, dining spaces, living spaces, master and teen's bedrooms, an artist's studio, and multiple new home offices. One of Carolyn's current projects is a horse farm renovation, with a ground-up "rustic-glam" main house, and guest house with a pool. The farm owners each run their businesses out of their home, so contemporary workshop spaces and collaborative office spaces were also designed into the guest house.

Teaching as an Adjunct at Drexel U., while maintaining my professional interior design practice, has been very rewarding, as each position informs the other every day. Students appreciate the real-world "stories from the trenches" and current clients appreciate the connection to research and new trends through the university. Throughout the years, I have taught Detailing, Commercial Design Studio, Interior Materials, and Thesis Advisory for Graduate Students.

NorthStar is an Owner's Rep firm and as such, provides full project management services, including assisting in funding non-profit projects themselves. Carolyn's PM role at NorthStar included planning and renovation of a commercial property into a vibrant new charter school, (including a complex re-zoning process), organizing a multi-phased project plan for replacement of the historic marble floor at a Philadelphia museum, assisting a Principal with PM on a 50,000 sf ultra-modern residence, kicking off a new innovation center at a private school, and assisting in master planning for a senior living center with an ambitious lifestyle update and amenity project.

Carolyn created GGA Design with a partner in 1991. She then bought out the partner and re-branded as Newspace, Inc., designing and managing commercial interiors projects continuously over a 14-year period. Clients included The Vanguard Group, Wyeth Pharma, Cushman & Wakefield and hundreds of small to medium-sized businesses. Carolyn's role as sole Principal included sales, marketing, and firm management, as well as the Lead Designer. Newspace, Inc. provided on-going space planning and tenant representation for multiple Philadelphia area developers. Services included full interior design services: schematic planning, design development, construction documentation and project management.

During Vanguard's early exponential growth, Carolyn was instrumental in the development of all of Vanguard's buildings. She worked with the Director to help grow the facilities department from 3 to 50 staff. Carolyn was responsible for ongoing space planning, standards development, furniture bidding, systems selection, as well as the establishment of multiple internal systems for processing facilities requests. Carolyn designed executive offices, developed all interior finish standards, maintained furniture inventories, created innovative custom traders' desks, a large Training Center Complex, and assisted in master planning the new Valley Forge campus.
