Carolyn Aberman practiced law for over a decade in the Chicago area before becoming a legal recruiter. Carolyn practiced for over 7 years in the Corporate Restructuring Department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she also was on the firm’s Summer Associate Committee. After Skadden, Carolyn was an Assistant General Counsel at Brunswick Corporation after which she became a legal recruiter at McCormack Schreiber Legal Search. Carolyn’s experience also includes practicing at Connelly Sheehan Moran, a boutique labor and employment law firm, and serving as Staff Attorney and then Director of First Defense Legal Aid. Carolyn earned her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992, and her J.D. from Northwestern University in 1997. Carolyn has worked for over a decade in Executive Search with a focus on legal and compliance. As a Sector Leader with Korn Ferry Professional Search, Carolyn works closely with her colleagues across a variety of industries and recruits primarily for critical in-house and not-for-profit legal, legal-adjacent, and compliance roles. Carolyn also manages and assists a team of experienced legal recruiters who work with law firms and corporations to place attorneys and paralegals, among others.
