“Make a difference. Live a life that matters." - Frank McKinneyGiving back was part of how I was raised and I’ve been fortunate that my career has allowed me to give back to my community in many different ways: Advocating for public health in the Wisconsin Legislature, providing recreation and respite to individuals with special needs and their families, helping credit unions better serve their members in achieving financial security and ultimately, their dreams, and now, advising clients on how to achieve their dreams through my business, Athena Legal Solutions LLC.I’m an experienced attorney and leader, but most importantly, a life-long learner who constantly seeks to grow and evolve allowing me to find new ways to make a difference and contribute. I thrive on challenges to make something that matters, and changes lives - whether it is improving access to public health, helping families with children with special needs feel less alone, reducing disparities in educational outcomes for students or using data and analytics to help consumers achieve financial security. As a wife, mother, leader, employee and member of my community, I see it as my obligation to model the changes I want to see in the world. As the Dr. Seuss said “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not.” It is true now more than ever and throughout the course of my 20+years in purpose-driven organizations, I have had the opportunity to build high performance teams which have cared an awful lot and contributed changes large and small improving the world around them. Additionally, I have the privilege of serving individuals from all walks of life by serving as an elected official and on various non-profit boards.I’d love to connect if you share my belief that we have a responsibility to care and make difference in our world.
