Serving PowerLung as founder, co-inventor and CEO since 1999, Carolyn Morse is responsible for PowerLung’s growth as a device that helps people improve their breathing. She has created a distribution channel for PowerLung products around the globe, increased the customer base by 500 percent, and strengthened the core focus of the company on helping athletes, performers, those with physical and respiratory challenges, and anyone who wants to train their lungs to breathe better. Tasked with creating the vision for PowerLung, Carolyn also enjoys being hands on with customers who use the product for instant feedback on what’s working and what needs improvement.Prior to joining PowerLung, Carolyn served in ownership, senior management and sales positions at companies in both Houston and Dallas including Montage Manufacturing, Legent Corporation/Computer Associates, VI Systems, Goal Systems, Inc., Applied Data Research/Computer Associates.Carolyn has led PowerLung to a finalist spot in the Make Mine a Million competition sponsored by American Express, and two straight years (2008 and 2009) as the Most Promising Life Science Technology Company selected by the Rice Alliance Life Science Venture Forum. Carolyn attended University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Woman’s University and served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve.
