Socioemotional Relationship Therapy (SERT) is an integrative model of couples therapy, blending structural, narrative, and emotion-focused frameworks. As a Research Assistant working on a team under Dr. Carmen Knudson-Martin, I observed and coded couples therapy sessions utilizing the SERT model at Lewis and Clark Community Counseling Center. As a team, we used our findings to create a new coding instrument to conduct further research measuring therapeutic techniques and outcomes.
