I have been working in the charity sector for more than 20 years, with experience in mental health, medical research, emergency medicine, higher education and conservation causes. Prior to working in the third sector, I had a busy career as a marketing specialist in health, learning and development and computer systems. This broad, and to be honest, fun career has meant that I have many skills and have a sound commercial outlook whilst maintaining my passion for good cause fundraising. With an excellent track record in individual giving, I have worked on regular giving campaigns, launched one of the very first Value Exchange campaigns (presented at the IoF conference in 2014), acquisition and retention campaigns and managed face to face recruitment. I have worked in trust fundraising, major donor fundraising and supported community fundraising teams. Having worked as Head of Fundraising, I particularly enjoy silo-busting and cross-team working.I am a GDPR champion (was writing about it in the fundraising press way back in 2014) and thoroughly conversant with current DP legislation and compliance around charity gambling products (raffle, lottery etc). In addition to managing extensive Individual Giving programmes and teams, I have been responsible for Legacy marketing, CRM systems, supporter care and have mentored young fundraisers in major giving, legacy and lottery marketing.I am a volunteer on the East Anglia CIoF Committee and a regular contributor to online fundraising conversations, sharing knowledge, experience and strategy templates. Please also feel free to send me feedback about the above. I'm always looking to improve. Thank you.
