I work with our local government and regional agency clients to implement Eproval's easy to use, intuitive and innovative egov software designed specifically to support the complex workflows and communication needs associated with special event permitting. With more than 30 years of local government experience managing a municipal Special Events & Filming Department, I know moving the special event permitting process online is not easy. Whether it's helping to identify who should be on a city's special events management team, developing workflows, or roles and responsibilities, I am here to help our clients achieve their vision. I understand the importance of software that is easy to implement, customer friendly, cutting-edge and financially responsible. One aspect of my role I find very rewarding is helping our clients leverage the Eproval licensing model that includes unlimited users and permit types to create additional permit applications for uses such as filming block parties, park use and more.After spending years trying to customize large enterprise systems that, ultimately, could not meet the unique workflow needs of special event permitting as well as testing free or low-cost workflow solutions that didn't support the complexity of special event permitting, I discovered Eproval. My goal is to help local governments learn from my experience, save time and money, while providing their citizens with a transparent, user friendly, affordable egov solution.

Recruited in the early 1990’s to establish the City of San Diego’s Office of Special Events, I spent nearly 30 years building the program to become San Diego’s celebrated and nationally acclaimed Special Events & Filming Department. Experiencing more than 600% growth, I developed multi-department teams, permitting processes and collaborative partnerships to support annual service levels including:• 1,250 permitted event dates for festivals, parades, runs/walks/triathlon, farmers markets and concerts with an estimated annual attendance of 10 million people• 1,500 permitted filming dates ranging from major motion pictures, reality television, commercials and print campaigns• 1,000 right-of-way conflicts resolved between construction projects and special event/filming • $500+ million in annual economic impact to the regionI also represented the City when international events were held in San Diego, providing economic development, government relations, media, community outreach,regulatory and public safety guidance.
