Providing Office administration and support to a local Ground Works Contractor. Streamlining office procedures and implementing policies, managing all office related tasks including product ordering , invoicing job costing and cash flow analysis.Contracting for a major DIY retailer, undertaking implementation of a Supplier Extranet to over 400 suppliers which allowed decisions to be made to increase sales, reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.Key accountabilities• Project managed the system testing and carried out quality assurance testing• Produced all relevant training and user documentation• Launched new system to over 400 suppliers and set up help desk systems to deal with queries.

(Formerly 3rd largest UK DIY retailer with 300 stores across the UK turning over in excess of £1 billion carrying 100,000 products from 600+ suppliers)Key achievements• Pivotal role in the development and delivery of a decision support system to the business providing them with an improved view of information to more effectively plan for the future. • Project managed an ‘Electronic Workflow’ Project to board approval stage – this had a nett cost benefit of £3.1 million over 5 years through improved product to market timescales and reduced administration.• Reviewed all Trading Department related processes, streamlined and simplified them releasing time for other value added activities. Documented and trained out all new processes.• Managed the IT Masterfile Data Harmonisation Project following the merger of Focus / Great Mills and Wickes • Managed the IT requirement to enable the business to achieve significant cost saving and increased profit through product range harmonisation project.Key accountabilities• Responsible for trading related data relevant to annualised purchases in excess of £650 million. • Empowered to make policy decisions on all aspects of operation and procedure which impacted 300 stores with a turnover in excess of £1 billion and the associated cash flow, stockholding and margin implications.• Responsible for development of Trading Department Operating policy. This comprised some 600 Suppliers and 100,000 products split across 22 departments, together with the differences in ranging throughout 300 stores.• Responsible for cross functional business process redesign and development.• Influential in strategic direction of operation system developments to support the growth and profitability of the business. • Made informed business decisions of behalf of the Trading Department through representation in relevant Steering Groups and cross-functional projects.
