I have been working in the residential design, construction and development field for over 30 years. Starting off as a licensed general contractor on the east coast while attending undergraduate business school at the University of Maryland, College Park, I moved to San Francisco in 2002 and continued my career as a licensed contractor in California. Designing and building for earthquake-prone locations is both challenging and much more advanced. In 2012 I successfully completed my first large scale development project, purchasing a 4-unit home with a friend in the Mission District in San Francisco. With my life’s savings, FHA loans and plenty of debt, I re-designed, expanded, and re-built 534 Shotwell Street, restoring it to the façade to it’s original Victorian roots, while building the interiors as modern open-space concept living areas. In 2015 I purchased a custom cabinet shop in the Bayview District of San Francisco, SF Custom Cabinets, and began my journey into this industry. In 2017 I took on a business partner and founded PYRAM USA Fine French Kitchens, with a showroom in the Design District, focusing on kitchen design, residential remodeling and custom European cabinetry. After buying out my partner in 2019 and going our separate ways, and I built a new showroom, ARTEZIA European Cabinetry | Design Studio, to accommodate new Italian and German manufacturers, and as the build was nearing completion, Covid hit, which was not good for the showroom business. Our space was inside a mall-type building, and die to safety restrictions we were unable to meet with clients or successfully conduct my business in this space. That Fall of 2020 I found a new showroom space, at our current location of 10 Arkansas Street, a couple of blocks away from our last showroom. Offering a number of different cabinetry and furniture lines from European vendors from Italy, Germany and Austria, we’ve continued to build the brand and promote high quality custom European cabinetry and furniture, with even more emphasis on interior design and high-end markets.
