Since my first day of school where I was sent across town to a separate school for disabled kids, I saw how systems weren't led by or designed with the communities and stakeholders most affected by them. As a lawyer, nonprofit founder, board member, law professor, state government leader, and executive director, I have brought a fierce commitment to ensuring that systems and services that have the greatest impact on communities are also designed by them. I see gaps and opportunities across systems and act for improvement at the organizational leadership level, as well as through policy and advocacy. I engage in difficult conversations, use humor as a tool for connection, facilitate spaces for learning, and move groups toward decisions and practices that are equitable, inclusive, and accessible so that we all experience communities and workplaces where we belong. My passions include organizational leadership, strategic planning, change management, codesign, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and policy.
