In a time when the future of public education is being questioned by the media, culture, and even some stakeholders, I am reinvesting in its Dewian origins as the purpose of schools being to prepare students to participate in a diverse democracy. In a time of trepidation about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, I am able to initiate brave conversations to reduce bias and build empathy. I am the change I want to see in the world.
