I am the director of the Downtown Camas Association, working with many other dedicated individuals to enhance, promote, and grow our downtown. Downtown Camas has a special history and a charming small town presence. It is the home to many independently owned and operated businesses that provide an experience unique to Camas and many reasons to come shop, dine, play, do business, and connect. Our goal is to partner with the City, merchants, stakeholders, and citizens to preserve and appreciate our history, and provide opportunities for people to come together to utilize and enjoy all that there is downtown. We know a healthy and vibrant core leads to a stronger community!A bit of my history: I was the owner and operator of The Uncommon Gift, a retail boutique in historic Downtown Camas, WA from 2004 until June of 2012. I was privileged to provide unique gifts, home furnishings, and local art in the charming historic downtown. I became actively involved in the revitalization of the Downtown Camas community through town-wide events, marketing, and downtown beautification. I helped found monthly themed First Friday events in 2005 which are still going strong today helping our community connect and bringing thousands of people to our downtown each year. I helped found the agriculturally focused Camas Farmer's Market in 2008 which connects the community with local farmers, educates about healthy eating and living, and serves vulnerable populations. I was the Executive Director of the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce from January 2013 to January 2014 and was so pleased to have had the chance to work with the business community on so many initiatives and projects in just one year. My goal is to serve in ways to help bring people together focusing on small town values, education, health, connections, partnerships, and the love of community.
