As Data Protection Officer* my remit is to deliver compliant practices across the EMEA region relating to the General Data Privacy Regulation. I am responsible for all aspects of the operational delivery in support of the legislation and regulation, delivering compliance into our Nordics, Mainland Europe and UK facilities. I am also the key SME for the development of the Global Data Privacy Standard. My role within the Aviva Data Governance Function was varied and broad ranging, working within several business functions, including Global Finance and Group Marketing to deliver updated Data Compliance. My introduction to Data Governance was timely and truly immersive, as I joined the DG function at the beginning of the GDPR Implementation Programme. The programme of delivery was extensive due to the size of the organisation, its complexity, and the highly regulated nature of the business. Once the Change Programme switched into a Business-as-Usual Function I was in the fortunate position of being able to transition to the Global Finance Data Governance Team. I was responsible for the continued implementation of Data Governance Compliance, including but not limited to: • Training and Awareness• Stakeholder Management• Change Management Oversight: DPIAs, RoPA, Data Mapping, Critical Data Register• External Data Transfer: Data loss prevention, RoPA• Incident and Breach and Subject Rights Management • Risk and Control Management, • Records Management: Unstructured and physical data. • Key role and responsibility oversight

Working in the UK Life division of Aviva, this role covers management of Pre Paid Media function, working with sales to select and promote digital and off-line media worth £1m annually via the major UK intermediaries, managing c1,000 placement opportunities, operating within FCA regulations. Achievements include:• developed the Content Calendar to integrate with Pre Paid Media activities• created URL building solution to track PPM activity and collect management information• refreshed the Aviva ‘New Thinking’ thought leadership campaign• delivered and managed the Aviva Premiership Fantasy Rugby Campaign• Lead of Marketing generated training materials for Aviva Platform FNZ Migration
