My role within the Aviva Data Governance Function was varied and broad ranging, working within several business functions, including Global Finance and Group Marketing to deliver updated Data Compliance. My introduction to Data Governance was timely and truly immersive, as I joined the DG function at the beginning of the GDPR Implementation Programme. The programme of delivery was extensive due to the size of the organisation, its complexity, and the highly regulated nature of the business. Once the Change Programme switched into a Business-as-Usual Function I was in the fortunate position of being able to transition to the Global Finance Data Governance Team.
