About Dr Carrie Shaw

I am an experimental psychologist with a research focus in the area connecting cognition, individual differences, social psychology and psychometrics. I have a special interest in erroneous and anti-scientific beliefs, how these beliefs influence behaviour (e.g., gambling behaviours, endorsement of alternative medicines, etc.), and how to change these beliefs. I also have extensive experience in project planning and management; budget management; staff recruitment and management; oral and written communication; and expertise with research design and implementation; data collection and analysis (including simple cross sectional analyses through complex longitudinal models).
