Sussex Green Living was founded in 2012 and on 20th May 2020 became a charity. Our aims to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, in particular but not exclusively by educating the public about how to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle and improve their ability to reduce their negative impact on the environment. On World S.O.S. Climate Emergency Day 2nd February 2019 we organised a meeting of representatives from 14 environmental groups from East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey to discuss collaboration, as a result the South East Climate Alliance (SECA) was formed. SECA is a coalition of local environmental, faith and community groups across South East England seeking action on climate change. Currently with 56 groups in the membership and individuals united, SECA spans Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey. SECA and its members are calling on local councils to declare climate emergency and working with the councils, businesses and individuals to increase their climate mitigation activities.

March 2016 I was invited to attend the Climate Reality Leadership Corp programme in Manila, Philippines. The programme takes great leaders and makes them exceptional, providing the training in climate science, communications, and organising to tell the story of climate change and inspire communities everywhere to take action. The training is delivered by Al Gore, renowned climate scientists and communicators. In 2017 I founded the Climate Reality Education Group enabling Climate Reality Leaders working in the education sector to connect using Zoom, share best practice through networking and webinars. In early 2019 US CR Leader Stef Miller formalised the group into the Global Climate Reality Education Working Group and has taken the lead with its development. Now regular webinars are presented for CR Leaders and non-CR Leaders. Climate Reality Leaders aim to educates and inspire individuals and organisations on climate change awareness and action as part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. I am now one of almost 19,000 Climate Reality Leaders (as of 2019) working worldwide. A social entrepreneur working on projects which help create a climate for change, not climate change. Projects included: Wastebuster CIC - a not-for-profit social enterprise helping schools become more sustainable, empowering children to improve their home and school environment and enable children to believe that they can make a difference to their world. My work included planning and delivering cross platform creative marketing and digital communications to raise the profile of waste/sustainability in the curriculum. This included assisting with the Wastebuster Eco Alien Fashion Show in London, media management, copywriting press releases, emailshots, website content and social media communication. Delivered assemblies and promoted Wastebuster at events.EnviroComms - working on a public engagement campaign for EnviroComms client the Surrey Waste Partnership. Take One Productions - digital communications consultancy, supporting CSR and corporate volunteering video projects. Lots of projects including Climate Reality Corp - climate change talks, workshops and initiatives. copywriting and marketing for events and festivals. Event support services.

In 1997 Nick Webber and I set up Take One Productions UK Ltd, we employed a creative and support team, at its largest was 10 f/t employees. I was overall responsible for marketing, project management, business development and overall office management. We were proud to have achieve IIP and ISO 9001.We specialised in corporate video production, web based communications and digital media. Working across all sectors, with a wealth of experience within the environmental and educational sectors, clients included: Defra, DECC, Act on CO2, Environment Agency, RSPB, Viridor, WRAP, RenewableUK, Veolia, Affinity, Southern and Thames Water.As part of our corporate social responsibility in 2011 I set up www.SussexGreenLiving.co.uk, my night job!

Responsible for sales and marketing of commercial training to companies within the landbased industries.

Marketing of Management, Business Administration and Customer Service NVQs and tailor made training for a wide range of industries. Organising a DTI funded Supply Chain Management network and ongoing master classes and networking events. Customer Services NVQ training workshops and assessment.

I was employed on a one year contract to test the demand and suitability for a commercial training unit within the college. Set up a commercial CRM system and a trainer database.Carried out TNA for clients and prospects within the landbased industries.Set up and undertook the marketing of an ongoing series of open courses and tailor made courses on demand.

This is a national training college for people who have some form of disability or medical disadvantage and were unemployed. They would attend a commercial or technical vocational training course, then I was responsible for finding them work experience and helping them to secure a job. Training and placements ranged from Video Production, Horticulture, Travel and Tourism, Administration and many more.
