I have been a Social Studies and English Language Arts teacher for twenty-three years, and have been professionally designing courses and writing curriculum for twelve years. Most recently, I have worked on an AI fact-checking project for WGU, an alignment project for 8th grade Texas Social Studies for Teach TCI, and designed a website for AP US History test prep for SparkNotes. I have also published two history books for young adults with Rockford Press. Additionally, I have served as a developmental editor, team leader, project manager, content writer, AP reader, and SAT tutor. I'm hoping to transition from teaching to a full-time job as a curriculum writer, curriculum coordinator, educational editor, or project manager. I am open to remote work or hybrid/in-person opportunities in the Dallas area. I enjoy creating engaging, well-aligned courses using the Understanding by Design philosophy, and have extensive knowledge of the TEKS and C3 standards. I can create any kind of course, whether in-person or online, though I specialize in Social Studies and English Language Arts. In past roles, I have created digital and in-person curriculum. To facilitate my work, I've become extremely proficient at using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Articulate Storyline. I'm also comfortable with a variety of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, ItemLogic, and Moodle.
