I received my master's in food science with a focus on food microbiology. During that time, I have been able to refine my leadership skill and learn the basics of becoming a scientist. I planned and collaborated for weekly experiments on my project. Along with maintaining inventory and daily lab operations to ensure timely completion of trials. I also conducted my experiments and collaborated with fellow graduate students. Lastly, I analyzedthe results and discussed possible errors and decided how to refine them before the next experiment.

Prepared for the harvest of barley by getting seed packets labeled and organized to optimize our time. Traveled around the state assisting with the harvest of test plots and safely getting the seed back to the lab. Collected and organized the seed in totes for cold seed storage to preserve for future trials.

Collected phenotypic data from grain sorghum to further our current research study. Completed various tasks in the lab to maximize the limited lab budget and time. Assessing the efficacy of small-molecule compounds in regulating host defense peptide synthesis in chicken cells. Conducted the following techniques cell culture, RNA isolation, reverse transcription, real-time PCR.

Aided the Doctoring team with giving shots and keeping electronic records of the medicine given. Managed the Feed Mill making 1 ton of feed per day and calculated the amount of feed to make ahead. Calculated the monthly finance charges and processed customers' monthly bills and payments.

Created content to appropriately promote the Cattle Industry Convention. Gave presentations to convince people to attend and how to register for the Cattle Industry Convention. Promoting events during the Cattle Industry Convention through Social Media. Communicated with prospective attendees through Twitter Chats leading to meeting in person.

Accurately collected data from research row crop plots in the Midwest to send back to seed companies. Thoroughly checked for accuracy of plot maps to make sure the data wrote down in the correct place. Assembled field stakes for test plots and bundled them in an efficient order to place in the field.

Actively engaged in Industry meetings and Cattlemen’s College. Assisted the American National Cattlewomen’s booth by selling jewelry throughout the convention. Consulted ideas and predicted future trends with fellow Cattlewomen and Cattlemen.
