I was raised in Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. Upon graduating from college, I began my career in the hotel and hospitality industry. I fortuitously found my way into Human Resources when a now dear friend, a mentor at the time, recognized my talent potential. While living in Florida, I had the amazing opportunity working for LXR-Luxury Hotel Group in Human Resources Management. I relocated to Michigan in 2005 and began applying my talents to Greenleaf Hospitality Group in Kalamazoo Michigan as Executive Director of HR where I worked for ten years. I was honored to have achieved my PHR certification (Professional in Human Resource Management) from HRCI in 2002 and my SHRM-SCP (Senior HR Professional) from the Society of Human Resources Management in 2014. While in South Florida, I served on the board of the local HR chapter in Palm Beach County as well as the Literacy Council. I am driven to positively influence and move others to accept new ideas for positive transformation. Today, I am proud to be the HR Manager for TowerPinkster, an Architecture, Engineer and Interior Design Firm with offices located in Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. As a successful leader with proven experience in developing and implementing strategies in collaboration with organizational objectives, I am passionate about helping a business be successful through strategic planning. As an HR Professional, I have been fortunate enough to have a seat at the table. I love being part of building a positive culture where we foster teamwork and personal growth. The best day for me is when I know I made a positive impact on an individual. I enjoy giving back to the community where I live. I served on the committee of the SW-ERN, the Southwest Michigan Employer Resource Network, was a member of the Executive Leadership Team for The American Heart Association of West Michigan, volunteer for Kalamazoo Human Resources Management Association, a Board Member for Kalamazoo Area Runners, a Run Coach, volunteer for Junior Achievement, and am President of the West Michigan Minorities in Architecture and Engineering Consortium. I am an avid runner, love the outdoors and enjoy dabbling in photography. I currently reside in Kalamazoo Michigan.
