Ceo/FounderUbix Dec 2001 - May 2005Start-up technology venture focused on changing the status quo of home automation industry.Developed Ubiquitous Automation Server (uBix): A server based solution where a general purpose computer for on premise hosting or scalable to a data center hosting environment could be deployed. Using Commercial Off The Shelf "COTS" hardware systems to prototype automation system architecture based on the use of XML profiles to represent controllable devices for the connected home for home automation (ie TV, audio receiver, alarm system, HVAC, lighting, etc). The vision was to deliver a modern software solution that would be flexible and scalable with an intuitive user experience and easy to install for the existing luxury high-end market. The ultimate goal was to have a scalable solution that could be sold in the mass market. This prototype was a precursor to the architecture that was developed at Savant Systems.
