Troubleshoot, service and maintain, GE, Siemens and Vestas technologies. Completed annual preventative maintenance on Siemens and GE wind turbines, this included; greasing, changing oil and air filters, performing routine safety checks, completed torque and tension to approved specifications, and electrical tests. Performed high voltage work on pad mount transformers, back up generators as well as in the substation, completed HV switching following a switching procedure, performed HV cable locates following requests from Ontario OneCall. Troubleshot substation HV equipment, tower monitoring software and equipment including SCADA and worked on-call hours to ensure a faulted tower was up and running in as minimal time as possible. Swapped out Deltas in Siemens turbines, troubleshot various kinds of motors and pumps, replacing any faulty pumps, motors found. Created quality improvement projects in order to try and increase safety, production and profitability at our site. Received up to date climb training and rescue training and performed quarterly tower rescues to stay up to date on tower safety. Coordinated with other trades and contractors during the start up of a new GE site, coordinated a gearbox replacement in a GE turbine. Often the team lead when up tower being responsible for the safety of my co-workers while coordinating that all the work was done completely with quality, safely and in a timely manner. Worked exposed to the natural elements in wind, rain and snow in working conditions below -40 degrees C and up to 35 degrees C. Performed multiple climbs per day as needed. Updated and developed written procedures for jobs and tasks that had no prior documentation. Involved in ordering various tools and preventative maintenance consumable for our GE and Siemens site, working with vendors and sourcing the correct filters, oils and greases to meet the turbine specifications, worked with in a set budget and had to plan purchasing accordingly.

Worked under co-workers to keep the nuclear power plant control room simulator running so that the operators in training and instructors could continue their lessons. Tasks included troubleshooting the simulator when it went down, fixing control panel instruments, installing new PCs monitors and other hardware.
