As a service manager at Chipotle, I managed a team of employees through the daily demands of a fast-paced restaurant environment. I was also responsible for overseeing customer experience to ensure satisfaction and handling any issues. When managing the restaurant, I coordinated inventory management and finances while also ensuring proper staff training and food safety requirements, which improved team performance and operational efficiency.Currently, I am working as an undergraduate research assistant for the Higgins Group at the Colorado School of Mines. The primary focus of this research is to establish sources of PFAS and trace their movement through the environment. I primarily focus on the transport of PFAS into soil and groundwater from septic tanks, but I also work with teams assessing the movement of PFAS resulting from ski wax and firefighting foams. In this role, I have conducted laboratory experiments to extract PFAS and also worked in the field to collect samples for analysis. I have also worked to prepare for sampling by engaging in communication with the public and with organizations like the National Forest Service to obtain proper sampling permissions. The results of this work are being reported to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment through both verbal presentations and the writing of several reports. I have been trained in the use of solid-phase extraction machines, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry machines, centrifuges, pipettes, turbidimeters, and multimeters through this work, while also learning skills like data analysis, technical writing - including writing health and safety plans as well as sampling and analysis plans, and public speaking. Additionally, I learned how to use ArcGIS Pro, Autodesk Inventor, and SciexOS.
