"Engineers must not only know, they must be able to do, and by their examples prompt others to know and to do"-Rituals of Pi Tau SigmaThose proverbial words are a part of the speech given by the President and Vice President of Pi Tau Sigma during the initiation ceremony which I directed in December 2022. From the time I knew I wanted to pursue mechanical engineering I was overcome with the desire to learn and channel my efforts towards this goal. Through my education experience and upbringing, I've come to value the importance of applying knowledge and learning it through hands-on application as well the importance of leading by example to promote the improvement of those around me. In May of 2023 I graduated with my Bachelors in ME. While at Texas Tech, I also minored in Mathematics and General Business. I have previously worked as a Facilities Engineering Intern at Case IH in Grand Island, NE. In this role, I was able to be employed and be exposed to various facets of facilities including communicating with contractors, implementing kaizen requests, creating facilities maps in AutoCAD, and completing two design projects. While this was a valuable experience that expanded my abilities as an engineer, it also produced a desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. My involvement in campus included being very active in ASME and Pi Tau Sigma. During my undergraduate career I served as the Treasurer for the TTU chapter of ASME from 2021-2022. Additionally, I served as the External VP of the Texas Tech Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma in addition to the offices of President, Internal VP and Initiate Coordinator. These roles have enhanced and developed my abilities as a leader and problem-solver in my involvement in these organizations.In July I started my professional engineering career at Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas. I’m super thankful and blessed to have this opportunity and seek to honor God and accomplish our mission of protecting these United States.
