I am currently a sophomore studying Accounting and Finance through the Kelley School of Business. My love of business started during my freshman year of high school. I took my first business class where we learned the basics of accounting, stock market trends, and personal finance. After this, I started learning more about business through my grandfather who buys, rents, and sells houses. These two experiences changed my life and set me on a journey to help others. Over the summers, in high school, I worked as a lifeguard at the local state recreational area, where I learned and sharpened many of the skills that I have today. I quickly got promoted to Head Lifeguard where I was put in charge of the rest of the pool. I learned leadership, time management, and communication skills. All of which have proved very beneficial throughout my college experience. They have helped me with group projects, clubs, and even event planning.After college, I am looking to become a Financial Advisor to help others with their financial situations. I grew up in a small town where I have seen many families struggle with financial issues from not being taught personal finance throughout their years of schooling. Helping others and communicating with people are two things I love to do and that is exactly what I would do in a position like this. My time management skills and previous experience will prove helpful when allocating time to clients and giving recommendations.
