The Student Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning and organizing student activities and programs under the Student Life division at RCTC. The Specialist assists the Student Life Coordinator in planning, developing, promoting and evaluating programs and creating event sponsorship opportunities that are focused on providing the diverse student body with opportunities for personal growth, community building, leadership development, with a major emphasis on recruitment, retention, student learning and the successful achievement of students’ academic and career goals. 1. Student Life Activity ProgrammingThe Student Life Specialist will work with the Student Life Coordinator to implement student life activities (i.e. lectures, workshops, athletic promotions and sponsorships, and other events) that complement the students’ academic goals for success and ensures a welcoming campus environment that supports student recruitment, retention and the successful achievement of academic and career goals. The Specialist works with external vendors in coordinating and sponsoring events; and works with faculty and staff to create strong co-curricular programming to enhance student learning in the classroom. The Specialist may travel with students as a Staff Liaison in the absence of, or in addition to, the Coordinator.2. Student Engagement and Outreach PromotionThe Student Life Specialist will work with the Student Life Coordinator to implement communication plans to increase awareness of Student Life programs and events; and engage with the student body through multimedia content creation, web, and social media outlets, following the College’s branding standards. The Specialist will monitor and update the RCTC Student Life and Athletics social media sites and maintain the Student Life and Athletics website, promoting programs through social media and website management, on and off-campus publicity avenues, and presentations.

I spent the last two years as an Assistant Coach at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota for two seasons under 2018 Northern Sun Conference Coach of the Year, Head Coach Adam Aho. While with the Marauders, I helped coach three NCAA Division II All-Americans and four national qualifiers. In both seasons, I helped coach two teams to the top twenty in combined GPA for NCAA Division II teams, along with 13 NWCA Academic All-Americans. As Director of Wrestling Operations, I helped develop a following for Marauders Wrestling on social media. In the McDowell Activity Center, where the Marauders averaged just shy of 1,000 fans per dual, I was a part of the team that obtained the highest “MAC Mob” turnout of 1,118 fans in attendance at the first home dual of the 2019 season against Minot State.
