I am currently a student at the University of Hartford in my fifth year of a five year program. I am double majoring in music management and flute performance. I have experience in arts administration from an internship I did in the summer of 2021, as well as many of my classes. I interned with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, a non-profit orchestra in New London, CT. I helped them put together their annual summer gala, which is their main fundraiser for each year, as well as designing advertisements for their upcoming season program book. I played a big role in the gala happening so successfully and did a lot to make sure the upcoming season will go on successfully as well. I also kept track of donors for them and fixed any misters that had been made as far as proper numbers. I went through their list of donors in 2020 and organized that, as well as what donations had come in through the summer of 2021. I also took a practicum class where I worked with a professional to put on the France Rocks 2021 Virtual Summerfest. In this I learned how to market performances, select performers, create flyers, and other various skills that may be applicable to the work I could do for your company. The festival did not end up happening due to lack of funds and the pandemic, but I did get to experience all of what goes into the planning. Lastly, I am very active in the flute studio at school. I am studio manager, I mentor the younger students, and I teach flute technique class.
