I am Carson Schlatter, a senior enrolled in the Insurance and Risk Management program at Bowling Green State University within the Schmidthorst College of Business. I am still deciding on a second specialization to complement my primary focus. My interest in business began in high school, where I started taking business-related courses during my junior year and actively participated in various business competitions through the DECA program. Notably, I've collaborated on multiple business plans within a team setting. In those settings, I showcased my ability to be productive and communicate effectively in diverse situations.Currently, I hold a part-time position in the Hylant Administrative Services Department (HAS) at Hylant, serving as an underwriting assistant intern. Within this department, the primary focus is contributing to the development of tailored and impactful insurance and risk management solutions for the public entity sector. A significant portion of my responsibilities involves the construction of real estate appraisals for the public entities covered by Hylant.
