I am currently an undergraduate at Iowa State University of Science and Technology studying Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics in my senior year. I plan to graduate in December of 2017 and quickly apply for Graduate School to get my MBA. I plan on continuing to pursue my passion of photonics and high power fiber-optic laser development.I have about a year and a half of experience working with high power fiber-optic lasers and photonics implementation through an extended Co-Op with Optical Engines Inc in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have experienced every aspect of development of these lasers and have worked on them throughout my time there. I am one a select few people in the world my age that can say that they have handled Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) and know how to cleave, splice, and work with it. I would be more than willing to show anyone interested my portfolio of all projects I have been assigned to.Besides my extensive work in the field, at college I am a Teachers Assistant for a manufacturing class taught to juniors and seniors. I have also tutored Calculus III. I have taken classes in manufacturing, machine and component design including an advanced level to this course, and several theoretical math classes centered around proofs.I have been apart of several patents for processes that yield these high peak/average power laser systems, as well as smaller inventions such as fiber cleavers and various fiber clamps. Common customers of Optical Engines Inc include the Joint Defense Ops (JTO), NASA, Boeing, the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Lockheed Martin, Massachusetts Institute for Technology, and Aerospace Engineering.I value completing my projects correctly. There is a difference between completing an assignment and completing an assignment sufficiently; I prefer the later.
