My job consisted of working up patients for providers including vital signs, covering healthcare gaps, medications, and allergies. I performed minor office procedures under order of physician such as ear irrigations, POC lab work (a1c, fasting blood sugar, testing for strep/COVID/flu, urine samples), and EKGs. I assist other areas when needed or short staffed. Being in a primary care clinic, we often assist with patient that have mental health concerns and provide support where plausible. With this support there are protocols for mental health crises that need to be followed depending on severity of the concern.
