I'm a graphic designer with the focus on illustration. At CLAYPICS I create 3D ilustrations made of plasticine (clay) and other modelmaking utensiles. Every illustration is first sketched out, than built, lit and photographed. You know Shaun the Sheep? It's sort of that. Just still life.My goal at this time is to finish my children's book project. In the future I would like to also work for magazines, design firms, publishers and everything elso you can fit plasticine illustrations in.

  CLAYPICS is my little illustration-workshop in the heart of Lower Saxony, Germany (which would be Sarstedt, in between Hildesheim and Hanover). My name is Carsten Eichler and I founded the whole thing in 2011. CLAYPICS brings illustration to the third dimension. Just like at Shaun the Sheep for example, all pictures are made of plasticine (or clay if you want), Fimo, foam, resin, gipsum and other modelling stuff. What once was drawn (characters, rooms, landscapes etc.) is now built, lit and photographed. The results are pictures to be used for an enormous variety of purposes just as advertising campaigns, postcards, cd covers, magazines, children's books and so on.
